It’s a little after 5:45am on this wet and rainy Thursday morning. Our whole house is sick. Kannon unfortunately has croup. He’s a fighter, but even this time it’s got him down. I hate seeing my boy sick. But he’ll get through it. I created this page at the urging of some friends and family. I’ve always wanted to get into blogging. And even though I’m in a couple of Facebook groups for Dad’s with children who have DS, most of the most followed ones are left to the mothers. Rightfully so, but I think our story is worth a listen as well.I’ll be posting pics of my amazing son, Kannon, as well as some funny stories, background and history of his life, all the way back to his prenatal diagnosis. If you guys want to follow along, go ahead and give this page a “Like.” There’s gonna be times when you laugh out loud. Times when you might shed a tear or two. But my goal in all this isn’t so much to brag about my son; although I’m biased and think he’s the most amazing kid in the world, but I’m hoping with this outlet I can change a few opinions of those who don’t have a family member with Down syndrome. Maybe Kannon, his mother, and myself can advocate and lend a helping hand to our other buddies with DS.
With this page I’ll post some links to other articles, news of what’s going on in the community, and offer some personal stories of what it’s like being a dad with a child who happens to have some special needs. So spread the word if you’d like. We’re happy to have you along the way.
